Esther R. Sovada, age 92, who passed away on March 9, 2014. Rev. burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
She was born to the late Henry Reinke and Caroline Tiemann Reinke on August 18, 1921. Esther attended St. Cloud Technical High School before attending Minnesota Business College.
Esther married Clarence J. Sovada on May 26, 1943. Family and friends were Esther's passion and delight. She loved to spend time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She loved to dance, play cards, bowl, travel, and watch baseball and hockey. She enjoyed organizing class reunions (Tech class of 1939) and sharing time and memories with her lifelong high school friends. She worked as a bookkeeper for Traynor, Hermanson, Architectural Firm and Lux Farm Supply (Albany). She was an active member in the community, serving several terms as president of the PTA, volunteering for Campfire Girls and Meals-on-Wheels. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Also, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 Ladies Auxiliary in St. Cloud and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary post 428 in St. Cloud. She was a regal, inspirational, generous woman who will be dearly missed.
Esther is survived by her sons, James (Joy), and Richard (Sue) Sovada; daughters, Carolyn Lauermann and Marsha (Ray Greenwood) Sovada; grandsons Chris, Steve, and Kyle Sovada, and Marc Lauermann; granddaughters, Jennifer Lauermann and Katlyn Sovada; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; brother, Hubert; sisters Vera Wolle, Emma Schulte, and Mildred and Evelyn Reinke; son-in-law, Rudy Lauermann, and granddaughter, Ellie Sovada.
