He md. Brimfield, 29 Dec. 1757, Katherine, dau. of Joshua & Ann () Shaw. She was b. Brimfield, 20 Apr. 1734 & d. there, 8 Dec. 1815.

George Shaw resided in South Brimfield, which was made a district of Brimfield in 1762 and a town in 1775, the name being changed to it's present form (Wales) in 1828.

He was a soldier in The American Revolution, a private in Captain James Sherman's Company, Colonel Pynchon's regiment, 19 Apr. 1775.
