Sidney A. Turner was the son of Henry and Ruby (Hendricks) Turner. He was born on November 25, 1921 in Scott County, Kentucky. He was a retired farmer, thoroughbred breeder and racing owner, Black Angus breeder, auctioneer and antiques dealer. He was a Kentucky Colonel, pioneer farmer, Honorary Commissioner of Agriculture (1996), member of Thoroughbred Owner-Breeders Association and Horsemen's Benevolent Protective Association. He died at Bradford Square Nursing Home on October 15, 2013. He was 91 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Maxine Traugott and Marjorie Meriweather, and six brothers, Marion Gilbert, William, Donald, Herbert, Russell and Ross Turner. He is survived by a sister, two brothers, a sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
