Bernard Gregory Downs, of Jacksonville, passed away on February 10, 2013. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 28, 1924. He was a World War II veteran with the Eighth Air Force Station at Snetterton Heath, England. He flew 19 missions all over Germany including a mission to Berlin as a B-17 turret gunner. He was transferred to England in 1945.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Arnold Downs and mother Elizabeth Gregory Downs.
