Christine Spears, age 81 of Tipton, IN passed away on Friday March 5, 2014 at IU Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton, IN. She was born in Celina, TN on December 22, 1932 to Alvey and Nettie (Short) Walker. On April 4, 1950 Chris married Carl Spears Tompkinsville, KY.

Chris was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary all of Tipton. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, dancing and listening to country music. Both Chris and Carl were very active with Tipton's We Care tele auction for many years. Chris loved spending time with her family, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement Chris had worked at Walker's Sales and Service for a number of years.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Spears of Tipton, her daughter, Carlotta and husband Don Hochstedler of Tipton. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Wesley Everling of Indianapolis, Trent Everling of Tipton, and Haley Hochstedler of Tipton along with her great grandchildren; Anthony and Jesiah Everling of Tipton. Other survivors include her siblings; James Walker of Tipton, Albert Walker of Kentucky, Shirley Hessman of Brown County, IN and Joe Walker of Fishers, IN. Chris was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; Bertie Walker, Estelle Decker and Paul Walker.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton. A memorial services will be held at 7 PM on the evening of March 12, 2014.
