On December 3, 2013 of Las Vegas. NV formerly of Springfield, VA. He was born in Salem, Ohio and was a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Art. Upon graduation he received his commission in the regular Army after completing the ROTC Program. A retired Army Veteran of 22 years LTC Fleming served during the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. Among his many awards were the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Meritorious Service metal. His final military tour was at Arlington National Cemetery as the Army Liaison Officer. LTC Fleming was very proud to have served as a member of the honor guard for President Eisenhower's funeral. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Fleming-Martin of Richmond, VA: sons, James Fleming of Tallahassee, FL., Steven Fleming of Chesapeake, VA; and Shawn Fleming of Virginia Beach, VA; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Shirley and Sharon Fleming, daughters Patricia Fleming and Janet Fleming-Pivirotto and son, Mark Fleming. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Fort Meyers Chapel, Arlington, Virginia. Interment with honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
