Funeral services for Bertie Lou Allen, 85, of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Private family interment will be in Moscow (Iowa) Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Allen passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center, Davenport.

Bertie Lou Smith was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Moscow, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Lois (Mahaffey) Smith. On Aug. 1, 1947, she married Robert H. Allen in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1995. Bertie worked for 17 years for Von Maur in Davenport prior to her retirement in 1997. Gardening was one of her many talents, but she also enjoyed boating and camping with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
