Joey E. McClung, 41, of Eagle Rock, went home to be with the Lord at Bethel Ridge Adult Home following a long illness. Joey was born in Roanoke April 10, 1972, and lived in Botetourt County all of his life. He was the son of Lewis E. and Rita Stingley McClung.

Joey was a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, and was an equipment operator for VDOT. He loved his sons and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just hanging out with his friends and relatives. Joey never met a stranger and was loved by many. As times began to get tough for him due to his illness, friends and relatives took time to feed his cows and bring meals to him.
A celebration of Joey's life will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Eagle Rock with the Rev. Robert McCrae officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Roanoke Office, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106-A, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Joey's parents want to thank all of his friends and relatives for their love and support during this difficult time. It will never be forgotten.
