Joe graduated from Sand Springs High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. On July 8, 1954, he married Maxine Kimball in Sand Springs. Joe worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Carrier for 30 years and then worked for Anchor Stone for another 10 years. He was a member of the Daylight Lodge Masonic Temple and the Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Maxine of Tulsa; two sons; daughter-in-law; two daughters; son-in-law; six grandchildren; great-granddaughter; and sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; and a brother, Bob Cummings.
A Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Prattville. Burial will follow in Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service, Sand Springs. (Tulsa World)
