Geneviève is the daughter of Nicolas Gamache and Jacqueline Cadot. She arrived in Quebec in 1652, with her father and her two brothers - Jacques and Nicolas.

Geneviève and Julien were married 11 November 1652, in Notre Dame, Cap-de-Tourmente. They had twelve children together:

Note: Her name is listed as Geneviève Gamache dit Lamarre on her baptismal certificate, but the dit Lamarre doesn't show up on her immigration, marriage, or death record.
