Janette Miller, 78, of Damon, Texas, passed away at her home on Friday, March 7, 2014. She was born Aug. 27, 1935 in Indianola, Iowa to Claude Eldon and Nava Edna (Derringer) Broughton. Janette was a loving mother, a bit outspoken and strong willed. She enjoyed her family and going to Louisiana to gamble.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, with Adam Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Guy Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. also at Baker Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jennifer McIntire, Brenda Kaack, Tracy Davey, Jackie Hackworth, Tasha Lackey, and Christy McIntire. Honorary pallbearers will be Savannah Davey, Raven Lackey, and Stacie Dryer.
Janette is survived by her son, Floyd Dale Gulling, Jr.; daughters, Jean Lyman of Damon, Robin Riner and husband, Conald, and Kitty Engelhardt and husband, Robert, all of Damon; brother, Eldon Broughton of Iowa; and sister, Connie Brown and husband, Raymond, of Des Moines, Iowa. She has 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; 5 sisters; grandsons, Michael Gulling and Floyd Dale Gulling III; and infant daughter, Janice Ilene Gulling.
