Lewis C. McDonald

Lewis C. McDonald, age 84, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday (March 7, 2014) at his home.

He was born on June 10, 1929 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Paul J. & Flora M. (Steiner) McDonald.

Lewis married Dolores J. Murphy on October 3, 1954 in Corpus Christy, Texas on a Naval Base.

Surviving Lewis are his loving wife of 59 years, Dolores;

Lewis served his country proudly in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Navy in December of 1966 after 20 years of service.

He then worked as a Service Repair man for many years for economics laboratories, working on industrial sized washers and dryers, and kitchen appliances. Lewis was a member of the Fleet Reserves.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday (March 11, 2014) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday (March 12, 2014).

Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Wayne with military honors performed by the Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338.

A bereavement luncheon will follow at the Wayne United Methodist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department.
