When William Lewis Berry was born on 30 April 1918, in Villa Rica, Carroll, Georgia, his father, Robert Lowry Berry a cotton broker was 47 and his mother, Annie Mae Powell, was 27.

He owned Berry's Pharmacy from 1949 until January and was an Army veteran of World War II. He died of leukemia at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. He was 73.

He married Margaret McCree in 1942, in Orange, Florida, United States. Margaret perished in the Villa Rica Gas Explosion, December 1957.

He was on the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy and was past president of the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association, and the International Board of Pharmacy. He was President of the Merchant's Association of Villa Rica, and a charter member of the Villa Rica Lion's Club and was on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Villa Rica since 1976. Also in 1976 he was appointed to the Georgia Trust Committee by Gov. George Busbee.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Hanson Berry, his children Kippard W Berry of Douglasville and Randall Berry of Winston; Valerie Berry Wilhelm of Washington, Jan Berry Chandler of Smyrna, Patricia S Proctor of Connecticut, Nannette S Rhodes of Roswell, Peggy S Adler of Powder Springs; a brother Dr. R L Berry of Villa Rica; a sister Eleanor Berry Jones of Fayetteville; extended generations also survive.

He died on 19 April 1992, in his hometown of Villa Rica, at the age of 73.
