BAXTER Funeral
services for Nola Francis Thomas, 85, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smellage Memory Gardens in Baxter. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1916, in Putnam County to the late Mansfield and Eula Linsey Roberts. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Her family includes three sons and daughtersinlaw, Jackie and Juanita Thomas of Houston, Texas, George and Patty Thomas of Cookeville, and Paul and Carol Thomas of Mt. Juliet; a brother, Kenneth Roberts of Baxter; three sisters, Zola Burgess of Dayton, Ohio, Corda Stanley of McMinnville, and Betty Jane Robinson Pippin of Baxter; six grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winfield Thomas; a brother, M.J. Roberts; two sisters, Sabrima Maxwell and Flossie Henley; and a granddaughter, Tara Kay Thomas.
