Altoona Mirror, 1 November 1905:

"Winfield Scott Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mercer Gray, died a the parental home in Gaysport this morning, of a complication of diseases. Deceased was born at Frankstown and was aged 24 years. He served three years and five months in the United States army, being a member of company C, Twelfth regiment. He saw service in the Philippines and was discharged for disability, having been permanently injured in a fall off a horse. He is survived by his parents and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Virginia Lingafelt, Mrs. Edith Bowser, Millie and Elsie Gray, Clifford and Herbert, all of Hollidaysburg."

"HOLLIDAYSBURG - The funeral of the late Winfield Scott Gray will take place from the parental home in Gaysport Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Geeseytown cemetery. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mercer Gray, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Jane Gray, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John B. Lingafelt, Mrs. Chas. A. Bowser, Clifford Gray, all of Hollidaysburg, and Millicent, Herbert and Garnett, at home."
