Jerry J. Blair, age 68, of Sterling, NE passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Gold Crest Care Center in Adams, NE.

Jerry J. Blair was born on May 29, 1945 in Independence, KS. He graduated from Cherryvale Kansas High School in 1963. He then served in the United States Air Force.

He lived and worked most of his life in Johnson County Nebraska. Jerry started working as a farmer and then began working in retail management. Jerry then worked at Campbell Soup Company in Tecumseh and became a Food Inspector from 1984 until his retirement in 2009.

Survivors include wife Lola “Irene” of Sterling, NE; one daughter Michelle Smith and husband Michael of Richland, WA; one son Jerry James Blair II and wife Jill Raye of Lincoln, NE; one sister Frances E. Stacy and husband Louis of Kansas City, KS and one brother Larry Blair and wife Judith of Narragansett, RI; sister-in-law Martha Blair of Cherryvale, KS; brother-in-law Allen Horner of Summerfield, Kansas, mother-in-law Lola Bell Horner of Sterling, NE; five grandchildren: Zoe Smith, Charlotte Smith, Lindsay Margerum, Victoria Polcyn and Aaron Bankson, three great grandchildren: Kristen Margerum, Taryn Webner and Jade Polcyn; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Jerene Blair, a brother William Blair, and a father-in-law Francis Horner.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tecumseh, NE.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Camp Creek Cemetery south of Nebraska City.
