Visitation Fri aft 5 pm Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd. in Brooklyn Center, & 1 hr prior to service at church. Interment Lakewood. Memorials pref to Zion Lutheran Church.

Cornettie Barka Lindell was born March 22, 1909 in Radcliffe, Iowa. She was the eldest of six children of Thor and Nettie (Wierson) Barka.

She moved to Minnesota with her family in 1920 and settled in in Litchfield Minnesota. She married Reuben Lindell in November, 1930 and their first daughter, Beverly, was born in 1933.

They moved to Fridley, Minnesota in 1937, where Reuben worked for Clover Leaf Farms, Northern Pump Defence Plant, and later for Wheeling Corrugated Steel.

While on the farm, Cornettie was cook for the many farm hands.

In 1942, their second daughter, Sharon, was born.

In 1944, they moved to 3021 Colfax Avenue - her home for 25 years. They became members of Zion Lutheran Church in April, 1947.

Cornettie continued her career as a cook for the Port Arthur Cafe, Jones Harrison Home and the Kate Dunwoody Residence.

She retired in 1970 and moved to Dover Hills in Golden Valley.

Her husband preceded in death in December 1962.

She had three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
