Steven D. Hartwell, age 68, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away March 6, 2014, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas.

He was born May 16, 1945, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, to Bruce and Ruth (Vorpagel) Hartwell.

Steven married Jane Schmerling on February 13, 1965 at Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

He was a carpenter for 35 years until he retired in June 2005 and then moved to Cherokee Village in August 2005. Steven was past president of Wisconsin Carpenters Locals 836 & 314. He was also president of the Spring River Car Club, member of the Highland Elks, and chairman of the Highland Elks Hoop Shoot. He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, and one sister.

Survivors include his wife Jane Hartwell of the home; two sons, Scott Hartwell of Portage, Wisconsin and William Hartwell and wife Susan of Delavan, Wisconsin; one brother, Lawrence Hartwell of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; four grand-children, Ashley, Erika, Megan, and Morgan Hartwell; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services were held at the Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel located in Highland, Arkansas.
