It is presumed Charles is buried here. The record of his death in the Grafton Town book lists burial at Riverside Cemetery, Grafton, MA. He is found on the 1860 census in Grafton, his death record says he died in Grafton in 1861, an old cemetery map shows he owned the plot, and two of his grandchildren who died after him (in 1867 & 1873) are buried in the plot even though these grandchildren died in Springfield, MA. His sister-in-law, "Jennie (Proctor) Beckwith", is also buried in this plot and she died in Springfield same as the grandchildren.
There is a large monument near the center of the plot with the inscription "C. Evans 1864" (although he died in 1861) and three small monuments in the plot inscribed as "FATHER", "GEORGIE", "BURNIE", each have only a name, no dates. There is no other evidence of a C. Evans related to the family having died in 1864, so it may be the monument was placed when the grandchildren were buried and date carved in error.

Charles married Caroline F. Proctor. [marriage record of their son Charles E. lists their names.]
Their known children are:
Nancy Elizabeth (m1. Henry M. Hutchinson, m2. Francis McLean)
Charles Edwin
George H.

The death record for Charles lists he died of Typhoid Fever, age 49y 9m 20d, his birthplace as Fryburg, ME and his parents as John Evans & Elizabeth Evans. [death record, Grafton, MA]
Mother's name: Mary Hill, submitted by member Elisabeth Evans.
