Michael being their first child, born 14 Jul 1716 in the ancient town of St. Gall, in Switzerland. died in Nov 1790, and was buried in the Reformed churchyard in Philadelphia, now Franklin Square*. His grave originally was marked by a large marble slab. Will dated 22 Oct 1790 Admitted to Probate 22 Nov 1790. Will Proved 23 Nov 1790.
He had been sent to America by the Synods of Holland in 1746, with directions to visit the scattered churches and as soon as possible to establish an ecclesiastical organization. After a 2 month voyage he arrived in Boston 1 Aug 1746, whence he proceed by way of Newport and New York to Philadelphia, reaching in health and safety 6th of Sept.
Though he made his home in Philadelphia, he was not much home. Much of his time was taken up in missionary visits through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. He makes a return visit to Holland on board a ship at New Castle on 5th of Feb 1751, arriving at the Port of Dartmouth 11 Mar. He arrived the 12th of Apr at Helvoetsluys, a small town on the south side of the island of Voorne, in South Holland.
Having accomplished his mission in Europe, he sailed from Holland for Pennsylvania in Mar 1752, arriving at New York in the night preceding the 28th of Jul, bringing with him 6 Minister's who had been ordained by the Classis of Amsterdam, and appointed to labor in the destitute churches in America - Rev. Theodore Frankenfeld he being 1 of the 6 Ministers.

In 1795, after five decades in use as a graveyard, Philadelphia's government wanted its square back. At the end of the 1860s, the graveyard finally ran out of room. The German Reform Church was forced to create a space for itself at the new West Laurel Hill Cemetery and move all the bodies and grave markers there.
In 2005 in Franklin Square these "Five Beloved Pastors" were discovered close to the surface in preparing the miniature golf course. They were covered over undisturbed.
