Michael E. Dixon, 71, of New Oxford, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jean D. (Speelman) Dixon, who died June 26, 2002.
Michael was born Aug. 2, 1942 in Wellsboro, the son of the late Benjamin and Catherine (Buckno) Dixon.
Michael was employed at Howe's Sunoco in Gettysburg for 36 years, and was most recently employed at the Pa. Driver's Licensing Center in Gettysburg. He was an avid Ravens fan and a member of the Gettysburg Eagles.
Michael is survived by four sons, Adam E. Dixon and his wife Kathy of Hanover, Patrick M. Dixon and his wife Lori of Gettysburg, and Micah S. Dixon and Noah D. Speelman, both of New Oxford; five grandchildren, Darren Dixon, Kelsey Reinhart, Shane Dixon, Kayla Eichelberger, and Cody Altland; two great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Dixon of Catonsville, Md.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the New Oxford Cemetery, with Rev. Cynthia A. Chambers officiating.
