Thelma Goans Burns, age 69 of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born May 24, 1944 in Stainsville, TN to the late Elmer Lee and Dorothy Phillips Goans. Thelma enjoyed cooking, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by: brother, Columbus Goans; sisters, Pearl Goans and Margie Seiber; and father-in-law and mother-in-law William F. and Fannie Lewis Burns.

Jason Brackin officiating. Interment: Family and Friends will meet at the Indian Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Briceville on Sunday, March 9, 2014 for a 2:00 PM interment. Hatmaker Funeral Home, Lake City, TN in charge of arrangements.
