Also spelled Reinhard
Elisabetha was the daughter of Jakob and Katherina Reinhardt. She was 24 years old at the time of her passing at Frenchtown, Monroe County. Elisabetha was the first wife of Peter Rode, also born in Germany. They were married January 3, 1843, in Monroe County, Mi. and lived at Sandy Creek, (Frenchtown) Monroe County, Michigan. Elisabetha and Peter had two daughters, Maria Katherine died about the age of four years, and Anna Elizabeth married John Saxe and lived at Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Elizabetha had been married about eight years to Peter before her death, which would have made her about 16 years old at the time of their marriage. Elizabetha had several brothers and sisters, one of which was Michael Reinhardt. Elizabetha has no marker that I can find at the cemetery, neither does daughter Marie Katherine, but I will be going back to check the old markers by the Reinhardt family, since alot of her family are buried there. They may not have had any markers, but are listed in the burial records of the church and cemetery, and in the history of the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church were the first family to move to the area.
Great-Grandfather's first wife, you had a hard pioneer life. Bless You.
Rest in Heavenly Peace.
Note: Burial info from Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Death Register, Books 1 and 2, pg 266.
A granddaughter of Elizabetha Reinhardt, the daughter of Anna Elizabeth Rode Saxe, was Mary D. Aper Shoup, who was first married to Herman Aper; had one son and one daughter, divorced and married Charles Walter Shoup in Tippecanoe, Indiana.
