Elroy R. Koeser, 82, of W5312 Koeser Lane, Elkhart Lake, (Town of Rhine) went to join our Lord, peacefully on Wednesday evening, March 5, 2014 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after suffering a heart attack. He was born on August 6, 1931 in the Town of Rhine, son of the late Louis & Catherine (Meyer) Koeser. Elroy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in Berlin, Germany from 1953-1955. On September 28, 1957 he was united in marriage to Joanne O. Will, daughter of Gregory & Leona Will of Mt. Calvary. Elroy was employed by the Vollrath Company, Hennings Cheese Factory and Sargento Cheese Factory, as well as running their farm in the Town of Rhine until his retirement. Elroy enjoyed the simple things in life, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, playing sheepshead, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joanne, two sons; Bruce (Judy) Koeser, Keith (Michelle) Koeser, five daughters; Lori (Jeff) Morley, Brenda (Brian) Schad, Lisa (Robert) Eckardt, Kelly (Tim) Denor and Amy Koeser (Al Schuh). He is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his sisters; Bonnie Hasler, Delores Schweitzer, Audrey (Roger) Zorn, Marlene (Victor) Frauenfeld, Virginia Voland, sister-in-law Myrtle Henschel, brother-in-law, Bernard (Dassy) Will, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Louis Koeser Jr, a sister, Elaine (Eugene) Christel and brothers-in-law, LeRoy Schweitzer, Elwood Voland, Marvin Hasler & Herbert Henschel. Funeral services for Elroy will be held at 7:30 pm Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with Deacon Pat Knier officiating. Burial will take place in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 7:15 pm when brief family rites will be held. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name. Elroy's family would like to extend their thanks to the Rhine/Elkhart Lake First Responders and the Kiel Ambulance Service for all their help as well as the Doctors and staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for the wonderful care he received.
