Vansant, VA – Christopher Robert "Chris" Gilbert, age 21 of Vansant, passed away Friday, January 24, 2013. He was a son of the late Robert Barton and Rebecca Gilbert. He was a graduate of Council High School and member of Sullivan Branch Pentecostal Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Bobby Gilbert and McKinley Barton.
Survivors include three brothers, Cody Ramon Cook of Raven, VA, Randy Barton of Ft. Campbell, KY, and Jonathan Barton of Kingsport, TN,
sisters, Emily Barton of Bristol, TN and Summer Hammons of Oakwood, VA,
guardian parents, Timothy and Linda Ratliff of Council, VA,
grandmothers, Yvonne Gilbert and Gertrude Barton,
and special aunt, Lora Gilbert and other special aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jeff Tiller and Keith Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Timothy Ratliff, Jr., Justin Rife,
Greg Rasnake, Justin Hale, Bill Lester, Roger Barton, and Kenneth Blankenship.
