Cousin Laura was born to the late Lola Mae and Uly Rhodes, Sr. She was the youngest of five children. Laura relocated to Buffalo, NY in August of 1958 and worked as a seamstress at M. Wile for over 20 years before retiring. Having accepted Jesus as her personal savior at a young age, Laura remained an active church member, attending Christ Gospel Church of Buffalo most of her adult life.

Laura was an instructor in a youth program the church offered called Royal Regiments for many years as well as a Prayer Warrior. Her love for the Lord and deeply rooted faith kept her always with a positive attitude and the sweetest of dispositions.

She loved her family, always willing to give counsel, share a laugh or lend a helping hand. She loved her church and harbored a deep and profound respect for the Crucified Way and Rev. B.R. Hicks, but most importantly, Laura loved the Lord.

Laura was loved and she will be truly missed!

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Uly Rhodes, Jr and sister-in-law, Sara Rhodes.

Laura is survived by a host of her Buffalo family: her sisters, Luvenia Rhodes and Jean Rhodes; brother, Willie Nelson (Emma) Rhodes, Sr; nieces, Beverly Rhodes, Roslyn Graap, Renee Rhodes and Rhonda Watkins; nephews, Derek Rhodes, Willie Rhodes, Jr., Roderick Rhodes and his family (formerly of Buffalo, NY, now residing in Las Vegas, NV); great nieces, Tearra Rhodes, Rakisha Rhodes, Jenee Graap, Jenelle Graap, Jaida Watkins, China Rhodes and Nadiana Rhodes; great nephews, Da'quan Rhodes, Jeffrey Graap, James Watkins, Cameron Calloway, CoTrell Rhodes and a host of other relatives (nationwide) and friends.
