Funeral services for Evelyn Deane Rounsaville, 89, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at the First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Alton Fannin. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be from 6 to 7 this evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.

Daughter of the late Joseph Edgar Skelton and Artie Melinda Turner Skelton, Deane was born April 20, 1924, at Russellville, Ark. She and Delbert A. Rounsaville were married May 10, 1943, at McAlester, and moved to Ardmore in 1946. They were the parents of three daughters, Sharon, Janet and Kathy. Deane passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, in Oklahoma City.

An active member of the First Baptist Church, Deane served as church secretary for 14 years. She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, working in the gift shop for 15 years; a precinct worker for the Carter County Election Board for 30 years; a member of the Carter County Home and Community Education-OSU Extension Service for 30 years; and active member of the Southern Oklahoma Quilt Guild.

Survivors include her three daughters, Sharon R. Veazey and husband, Samuel J., of Ardmore, Janet R. Thomas and husband, Clifton D., of Norman, and Kathy R. Finn and husband, Steven C., of Dallas; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Deane Veazey, John S. Veazey and wife, Sarah Clay Veazey, Jennifer Anne Schafer and husband, Roland P., Laura Katherine Cowan and Richard Thomas Cowan; great-grandchildren Laura Elizabeth Veazey, Eleanor Anne Schafer and Emily Grace Schafer; and sister JoAnne Baker of Tahlequah.

Her parents, husband Delbert, sister Ouida Boyd and brother Colonel Eddie Lee Skelton preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Loaves and Fishes Ministry or to a charity of the donor's choice.
