Loretta Moton-Blair, 62, of Washington, DC (formerly of Elkton) passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the United Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Mrs. Moton-Blair was born September 12, 1951 in Rockingham County to Dorothy Moton of Elkton and the late William Moton, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Moton, Jr.

Loretta graduated from Elkton High School in 1968. She had previously been employed by the State Department as an Administrative Assistant, worked in retail at Best Store, and also as cashier for the National Zoo.

In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughter, Angela Blair, and granddaughter (who was the love of her life) JaTerra Bowie both of Maryland; brother, James Jones, Sr.; sisters, Cynthia James, Sylvia Bostick, and Gloria Basden all of Elkton, Rosetta Moton of Washington, DC; and a number of nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

The Revs. Michael Turner and Theresa Woodson will conduct the funeral service 2pm Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow in the Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Elkton. Friends may also call or visit at the homes of her sisters, Cynthia James or Sylvia Bostick at anytime.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kyger Funeral Home, 115 Nicholson Road, Elkton, Virginia 22827 to help with unexpected funeral expenses.
