Mr. Charles F. Beauchamp, 85, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital.

He was born on August 25, 1928, a son of Charles F. Beauchamp, Sr. and Lorean Sturms Beauchamp. He had been a resident of High Point all of his life. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and Beeson Hardware Co. for 16 years.

Mr. Beauchamp was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, Marvin Maynard's Sunday school class, and served as a Deacon, usher, and greeter. He was also a member of Twilight Civitan Club and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

On December 25, 1949 he married Doris Rogers Beauchamp who survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Gary Alan and wife, Gail of Salisbury, Maryland; one grandson, Ross Beauchamp; one granddaughter, Christiana Beauchamp; a brother-in-law, Sam Sheffield; and a sister-in-law, Eunice Beauchamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Genevieve Sheffield; and brother, Marion Eugene Beauchamp.

Mr. Beauchamp enjoyed oil painting at the Roy Culler Center, being with his church friends, seeing his friends while walking at the mall, and playing golf in his earlier years. He looked forward to visiting his grandchildren every chance he could.

A service to celebrate the life of Charles Beauchamp will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point with Rev. Phillip Rhynerson officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Green Street Baptist Church, 1701 Westchester Dr., Ste 620, High Point, NC 27262.
