Marie Jeanette Fowler Tutt May, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on March 2, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church, 5535 Buffalo Gap Road, with Pastor Jack Stevens and Jerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery, near Lawn, under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home. Family will greet friends at a visitation, 12 to 2pm, prior to the service, 5535 Buffalo Gap Road.

Marie was born on October 11, 1927, in Burkburnett, Texas, to Gus Fowler,Sr. and Myrtle May Singleton Fowler.

Marie graduated from Abilene Wylie High School, in 1946, where she was a member of the drill team. Shortly afterward, in 1946, she married Davis Wayne Tutt, becoming a homemaker, living in Abilene.

Marie and her family moved to San Antonio, in the 1960's, where she was employed as an aide at the State School. Later she transferred to the Abilene State School where she worked until her retirement.

In 1972, she married G.T."Cotton" May of Ovalo, and they lived on his farm in Ovalo where he died in 1986.

Marie was a co-owner of a ceramic shop, and she was quite prolific in making ceramics to sell, especially to the employees at the State School.

Marie is survived by four children. Carolyn Louann Tutt Davis Neff, Floyd Wayne Tutt, James Guinn Tutt, and Karen Ann May Ferguson and husband Justin, and one brother Gus Gowler, Jr. of San Angelo. Seventeen grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, Brandi Stokes, Kayla McDowell, Missie Walbburger, Robin Brummitt, Carrie Bucior, K.C. Bucior, Tonya Tutt, Tracy Tutt, Terry Tutt,Travis Tutt, Amber Tutt, Cody O'Neill, Cortney Mast, & Chelse Bonnett. 29 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren, plus several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, her two husbands, and one daughter, Vicky Alene Tutt Bucior and granddaughter Melissa Wilson.

The family of Marie, deeply appreciates the special attention, loving care and support so graciously given to her and the family by Big Country Hospice.
