John Bell Died Suddenly, Death Being Due to Heart Failure
John Bell, aged about 50 years, was found dead in bed at the Columbian Hotel, this morning. He was a laborer on the Wabash Extension and had been rooming at the above hotel about a week. Action coroner, W C Korns, viewed the body and hearing the testimony of a man by the name of John Vincent, who roomed with Bell and that Dr Franklin, the atter(sic) saying that death was due to heart failure, an inquest was deemed unnecessary. Vincent said that Bell went to bed around eleven o'clock last night and that he went to bed later. Early this morning, he said that Bell was lying on his back breathing heavily and he tried to turn him over on his side and that when he awoke at six o'clock this morning, Bell was dead. The dead man was registered as being from Chicago. The only thing found in his clothing was five cents. The body was taken in charge by Undertaker Stein.
