Ellen Marie Christensen was born on June 25, 1932 to Robert and Anne (Sigvaldson) Gooselaw at St. Vincent Hospital in Kittson, Minnesota. Over the years, she lived in St. James, St. Paul, Coon Rapids, and settled in Lucan where she remained. She was united in marriage to Virgil Erickson and to this union six children were born, Roxanne, Ronald, Renita, Richard, Robert, and Ruth. In the early 1980's, she met Bert Christensen and they have been together since that time and were married in 2000 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Bert loved Ellen and Ellen loved Bert. Over the years, Ellen worked as an office manager for a dentist in Blaine, MN and also as a manager for the Express Club at Jackpot Junction Casino in Morton, MN for 17 years. Ellen enjoyed reading, loved her dogs, liked to trace her family tree on the computer, and over the years had many different interests and hobbies. She also helped Bert on the farm and rebuilt carburetors. She gave 100% at everything she did and will be greatly missed by many people whose lives she has touched over the years. On Monday, February 24, 2014, Ellen passed away at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall, Minnesota at the age of 81 years old.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Bert Christensen of Lucan; six children, Roxanne (Jack) Johnson, Ronald (Debbie) Erickson, Renita (Dan) Dolezal, Richard (Kat) Erickson, Robert (Cindy) Erickson, and Ruth (Tim) Walter; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Doug (Carol Ann) Gooselaw, James Gooselaw, and Ruth Merrill, and many extended family.
