COLUMBUS— Loren ‘Babs' Davis, 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 8, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Douglas Zurek officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corp. Honor Guard.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 9:45 A.M.

Loren "Babs" Davis, 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Loren "Babs" Davis was born October 6, 1930, in Oconee, Nebraska, to Luverne and Leona (Knott) Davis. He attended school in Columbus and also in Oregon. On December 6, 1951, Loren entered the U.S. Marines. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1953. After returning to Columbus, Loren was united in marriage to LaDonna Williams on July 3, 1955 in Columbus. He worked as a millwright with high structural steel for many years and was a certified welder on a missile base. Loren also did carpentry work for several years. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
