Laura A. Garner, 95, longtime Balsam area resident, died on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Grand Rapids.

Born July 13, 1918, she was the daughter of Vernon and Sara Laney. She was a homemaker and longtime resident of the Balsam area. Laura and Alfred Garner were married on February 6, 1935 in Balsam.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vernon and Sara Laney her husband, Alfred in 2004 and seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Wayne (Marcia) Garner of Grand Rapids, Terry (Sandy) Garner, and Geraldine Clancey, both of Balsam; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Don Laney of Grand Rapids; and a sister, Grace Bagda of California.

Burial will be in the Balsam Cemetery.
