Russell E. Bainbridge, 89, Marion, (and formerly of Kokomo) died at 6:32 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Wesleyan Health Care. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Earl and Hilda (Lett) Bainbridge. Russell was a Marion High School graduate and attended Purdue University. He married Nancy Wynette Shearouse in 1948, who preceded him in death in 2003.
He was the owner and operator of Bainbridge Printing Company, retiring in 1993 after 45 years, and a member of Brookhaven Wesleyan Church where he formerly served on the board of trustees. Russell was a member of the Exchange Club, The Gideon's International and past president of Cancer Services of Grant County. He owned and loved his apartment houses on Washington Street. He enjoyed collecting coins.
Russell is survived by his sons: Roger (Anne) Bainbridge, Marion, IN, Gordon Bainbridge, Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Wendell (Dr. Ruth) Bainbridge, Marion, IN; grandchildren: Allen (Jill), Laurie (Rev. Jeremy) Bays, David (Michelle), Phillip (Melissa), Dr. Carolyn (Phillip) Herman, Sharon, Charles 'Chuck', Christina, Daniel; 14 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; sister, Mildred.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March, 8, 2014 at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, 2960 E. 38th Street, Marion, Indiana with Rev. Bob Van Cise and Rev. Gale Janofski officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
