Archie was born May 19, 1924, on the family farm near Drumright, in Payne County, to Orville Lee and Della Catherine Bohannon King. He graduated from Drumright High School in 1942. On March 25, 1944, he married Thelma E. Stephens and joined the U. S. Navy in May. He was assigned to Tongue Point Naval Air Station in Astoria, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Thelma; his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Zola and Gene Holmes; one brother-in law, Billy Stephens; two sisters-in-law, Helen Philpott and husband, Kenneth and Joyce Savory and husband, Bob.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with burial to follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery north of Cushing. (Palmer Marler)
