George was born June 25, 1928 in Vananda, MT. He attended school in Power and Simms, and at the age of 17 he joined the Navy. He served during WWII in China, aboard the USS Klondike, USS Belle Isle, and USS Pilot. Upon returning to civilian life he worked at the smelter plant, he helped build West Junior High, he was a brakeman for the Great Northern Railroad, and also at Malmstrom AFB as a laborer, where he began in light equipment and excelled to supervisor of the Civil Engineering Squadron, retiring in 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans and Veterans of Foreign War.
He met and married the love of his life, Doris Ervin, in 1949. They spent 64 wonderful years together. He was an avid horseback rider, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with his family and many friends.
Survivors include wife; two daughters, two sons, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, a sister-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Those who have preceded him death are his parents, John and Carolina; sisters, Linda McCarty, Alvina Tordale; brothers Reinhold, John and Albert.
