Angus Glendale "Bud" Clift died Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 in a Lawton, Oklahoma hospital following a vehicle collision in Fletcher, Oklahoma. He was 83 years old.
Bud was born September 23, 1930, south of Anadarko, Oklahoma to Eli Aaron Clift and Melba Chloe Weber Clift. He grew up on a farm south of Anadarko with two older brothers, Raymond and Edwin. They grew small crops and raised cattle. Bud attended Atendale School south of Anadarko, Oklahoma and worked in the oil fields in the Caddo County area.
January 6, 1951 Bud married Sylvia Marie "Boots" Jones. They were blessed with three sons: Gregory Dale Clift, Brian Keith Clift, and Eric Bruce Clift.
In 1952, Bud enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at the Presidio, San Francisco, California as a motorcycle military police. He was so blessed and honored to be able to serve his country in the United States Army.
After his stint in the Army, Bud returned to Oklahoma to work for Motor Service Company in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
In 1962, Bud started Sparks Motor Company, a new car dealership, in Anadarko with William "Bill" Sparks of Hinton, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Clift Pontiac-Buick in Anadarko until the late 1980's.

Bud drove a Charter Bus for LATCO in Lawton, Oklahoma 1990 - 2000. He enjoyed meeting new people and seeing his children and grandchildren when his bus trips would take him close to the east coast where they lived.
Bud made friends easily and maintained many lifelong friendships. He loved shooting, hunting, camping, and boating and skiing with friends and family at Chickasha Lake, Ft. Cobb Lake, Lake Tenkiller, and Lake Texhoma. Many of his sons' friends learned how to water ski behind Bud's boat as he patiently and gladly spent his time teaching them at Ft. Cobb Lake.
He was an attentive, dedicated, hardworking father who taught his boys everything he knew. He was kind, and generous to others with his time and resources. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed indulging them in their various activities and demonstrated to all the importance of honoring God in all things.
September 14, 1996 a wonderful thing happened to Bud, he married Elnora Spannagel of Cement, Oklahoma. She made him very happy and took very good care of him. They worked together at Clift Insurance Agency, in Cement, Oklahoma. They attended Midway Baptist Church where they were faithful members and Bud served as deacon. Bud and Elnora enjoyed traveling to places like Branson, Missouri, New York City, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, South Dakota, Rio Grande Valley / South Texas and their weekly trips to Lawton, OK.
Bud filled the roles of husband, father, grandfather and friend in such a fun and loving way that each member of his family and his many friends feel a great loss at his passing.
