Mr. Howard Clifton Rhodes, age 65 of Rome, GA, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the residence.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Miami, FL on March 26, 1946, the son of the late Howard Clifton Rhodes, Sr and Adki Iletta Adkitson. Mr. Rhodes was a longtime truck driver. He attended the Rome Baptist Temple. In addition to his parents Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth Ann Rhodes and by his second wife, Christine Lewis Rhodes; sisters, Dot Hagler, Wanda Green, Marlyn Elrod and Bessie Bishop and a brother, Alfred McKenzie.
Survivors include James Howard Rhodes and Joey Lee Rhodes both of Rome; daughters, Amy LeAnn Scoggin and Heather Dawn Rhodes; grandchildren, Lynleigh Ann Rhodes, Cody Layton Rhodes, Devin James Rhodes, MaKensie LeAnn Rhodes, Blake Paul Dunagan, Gracie Elizabeth Dunagan, Braxton Harris Scoggin and Bryleih Nicole Scoggin and sisters, Viola Lance, Liz Ingels, Juanita Autman and by a special friend Wanda Dicicco.
Graveside and interment services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy J. Goolesby officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at the Oaknoll Chapel from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
The following has been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet Thursday by 10:30 A.M. at the Oaknoll Chapel: Mike Watwood, Bruce Momon, Mark Forsyth, Jeff Barnnett, Hubert Ellis and Bobby Bailey.
