Siebolt I. Janssen
Polo - Siebolt I. Janssen, 74, 501 Colden St., here, died late Friday in KSB Hospital where he had been a patient for one week. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Janssen was born in Germany on Oct. 4, 1890, the son of John and Elise Peters Janssen. He was married to Elsa Stern on Feb. 10, 1916, near Morrison.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Janssen was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, and four sisters.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Harold and Elwin, both of Polo; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Katheryn) Helms, Freeport, and Mrs. Harold (Alta) Mertz, Baileyville; two sisters, Mrs Carl Maring, Fairhaven, and Mrs. Earl Miller, Morrison, and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m., in the Brown-Seidel Funeral Home, with Rev. Allan Juenger, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling.
A memorial fund for St. Mark's Lutheran Church has been established.
