David Murdock, 73, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born January 29, 1941, the son of Chester Murdock and Jean Stumbo Murdock Perkins. He is survived by his wife, Kay Ravencraft Webb Murdock, whom he married December 6, 1985.

Mr. Murdock was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and a former boiler operator for the South Point Ethanol Plant. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ironton and Ashland with a Pilgrim Degree, a member of the Ironton VFW, the Ironton Elks and the Ashland Eagles. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:
2 brothers: Dwaine Murdock and Don Murdock
a sister: Idabell McCarter

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
a son: David Darren Murdock of Ironton
a sister: Donna (Keith) Caudill of Greenville, SC
2 step-daughters: Letitia "Tish" French and Pamela Ackison both of Ironton
a step-son: William "Hoss" Webb of Ironton
6 grandchildren: Christina Willis, Derrick French, Julie (Jarod) Warren, Katie French, Tiffany (Mike) Newman, and Willie (Mary Beth) Webb

Loyal Order of Moose Pilgrim services will be 8:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio followed by the funeral service with Rev. Leon Dalton and Rev. Mike Greene officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
