Richard was a graduate of Bacon Academy in Connecticut then later moved his family to Lenoir, N.C., and was an excellent auto body mechanic and painter until becoming disabled. His automotive talents and skills are well-known throughout Caldwell and Burke counties.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Janine, include his three children, Jenny, Leona and Joey, all of Lenoir a brother, David of California and a sister, Thelma of Illinois.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Greg Zolninger. Private interment will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
