Dorothy L. Birdsong Gordy, 65, died Sunday, October 21, 2001.

She was a native of Newburg, Missouri., and had resided in Ringgold for the past 49 years. She was a former employee of Acuff Meat Processing and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Gordy was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Gordy. Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Holmes and Brenda Taylor, both of Ringgold; one son, Daryl Gordy, Ringgold; four sisters, Betty Jane Salts, Margie Woolsey, Alice Warren and Mary Ellen Myers, all of Missouri; five brothers, Bill, Gene, Frank and Leeroy Birdsong, all of Missouri, Lloyd Birdsong, Illinois; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tracy Bass officiating.
Interment will be in the Gordy Cemetery.
Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
