Son of Charles L. and Margaret (Robertson)Ayling. Graduate of Manlius Military Academy. He was a pilot, his father bought him an airplane shortly before his death. Robertson was general manager of the Hyannis Airport. He and his friend Oscar Reyerson, Jr drowned off Hyannisport while duck hunting in a canoe.
