Mrs. Nellie Sager, 79, of 508 Locust Street, Lawrenceville, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at the home of a son, William M. Sager, Lawrenceville, Route 2. She had been ill a week.
She was born Nov. 5, 1875 in Richland County, a daughter of Isaac and Susan Houser Jenkins. She was widow of William Sager who died in 1935.
She is survived by eight children, Harry Sager of Mount Carmel, Ernest Sager of Lawrenceville, Ora Sager of Olney, Mrs. Inez Creek of Mattoon, Mrs. Lora Darnold of Lawrenceville, Willaim M. Sager of Lawrenceville, Route 2, Mrs. Gertrude McNew of Bridgeport and Carl Sager of Indianapolis, 38 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Another son, Roy Sager, preceded his mother in death. He was superintendent of the Witco Chemical Company here. Two other children died in infancy.
Also surviving are a brothers, Asa Jenkins of Richland county and four sisters, Mrs. Allie Piper and Mrs. Mattie Bagwell both of Olney, Mrs. Grace Fritchle of Richland county and Mrs. Gertrude Moore of Mount Carmel.
Funeral services were held at the Emmons Funeral Home Tuesday. The Rev. D. R. Close officiated and burial was in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
