Doris Kigar, age 98 years, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at Mid Michigan Gladwin Pines on Monday, March 3, 2014. She was born in Gladwin on August 29, 1915, the daughter of Dempster & Mabel Paxton. On August 15, 1938, she married her husband, Rollin Kigar. He predeceased her in 1993. Doris was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a Secretary, working for the State of Michigan, Department of Natural Resources in Gladwin. Left to cherish her memory is her son: Rollin H. "Rod" Kigar and friend: Pattie Wendell of Gladwin; daughter: Diane (Larry) Boylen also of Gladwin; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; 1 brother: C.W. "Dub" Paxton of Arvada, Colorado; several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Rollin Kigar; twin boys: Richard & Robert Kigar; great grandson: Brendon Bittner; 6 brothers: Thomas, Gaylord, Cecil, Carl, Doyle and C.D. "Dee" Paxton; 6 sisters: Beatrice, Beulah, Mildred, Zella, Ruth and Viola. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor David Amstutz on Thursday, March 6, 2014, 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
