He was the son of Reuben Hickman Scobee "Rube" and Essie Lee VanDevander, husband of Bernice Hasson, father of Richard and Sharon.
He was cremated and the location of his ashes is unknown.

BILL HALL SCOBEE, 61, of Skokie, Illinois, formerly of Perry, passed away Thursday, June 9, 1981, at his home. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, 1981 at 11:00 a.m. at the Haben Funeral Home in Skokie, Illinois. Reverend Warren J. Mueller officiated.
Bill was born February 16, 1920 at Florida, Missouri, the son of the late Rube and Lee Vanderbenter Scobee. He attended the Perry area schools and graduated from Perry High School in 1937. He was a member of the Florida Presbyterian church. several years after he graduated, Bill moved to the Chicago area, where he owned and operated his own business, Ideal Dairy Supplies. He returned to visit in our area many times in past years, but resided in Skokie until the time of his death.
He was married March 4, 1944 to Bernice Hasson of Chicago, Illinois, who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Sharon) Mart; one son, Richard Scobee of Enumclaw, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Harms of Perry; and five nephews and one niece.
Mr. and mrs. Gerald Harms of Perry attended the service in Skokie and returned home Friday evening.
