Ruth was a homemaker on the farm and a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Kentucky and Harmony Baptist Church in Avon.
Survivors include her son, Carlos L. Hood and wife, Mary Kay of Danville; sister, Sally Ann Paul of South Carolina; grandchildren, Cindy Hood of Federal Way, Washington, Lisa Malicoat of Danville, Debbie Spurlock of Pittsboro; great grandchildren, Alyssa Hitch, Justin Malicoat, Morgan Spurlock, Hailey Spurlock, Jase Spurlock and a great great grandson, Mason Hitch.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 7, 2014 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Danville South Cemetery. Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the funeral home.
