Ginger Hernandez McAndrew
A native and resident of Baton Rouge she passed away on February 26 - less than 3 months after her beloved husband, Gayle McAndrew. Ginger was a devoted wife and mother who loved to garden, cook, shop and above all, she loved a good, long conversation while sipping a cup of hot, strong coffee. She and Gayle liked to visit "the boat" and she loved their vacations to the Smokey Mountains. She was proud of her hard work and determination and she always put her family first. Ginger is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years John "Gayle" McAndrew, Sr., her loving parents Clarence and Lena Leonard Hernandez, and her sister Joyce H. Nicolle. She is survived by her children: Robin Tuminello (Kenneth), John G. McAndrew, Jr. (Pamela) and Bryan McAndrew (Robin); Grandchildren, Kyle, Erin & Doug Tuminello, Melissa, Johnny & Audrey McAndrew and a four-legged grand-dog named Maisy; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Clarence Hernandez (Susie), Ted Hernandez (Susan), Lyndon Hernandez (Debra); sister, Roma Eichelberger; and numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, loved-ones, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge) from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, March 6th at 9:00 AM until Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be made in Ginger's name to St. Agnes Catholic Church (749 East Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70802). "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may also be. And you know the way to where I am going." John 14:1-4. Sign the online Condolence Book at www.rabenhorst.com.
