Services for Joe Lee Day will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 2:00 P.M. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randall Richards officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Joe Lee Day was born September 12, 1928 in Ardmore OK and departed this life on March 2nd 2014. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Clydia Day, his sister, Wanda Medina, his brother, Eddie Day, and his daughter, Connie Green. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeff and wife Kelly Jo Day of Plano TX, his daughters, Doris and husband Bobby Smith of Ardmore, Judy Mitchell of Lewisville TX, Lynda and husband Philip McKanna of Diana TX, Jo Lynn Day and fiancé Chris Smith of Prosper TX, thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. After attending Ardmore High School, Joe joined the Army and served in WWII. Following his military service, Joe worked for Day Concrete before moving to Texas and working for a commercial construction company. Known as "Papa Joe" to his extended family and friends, he will be fondly remembered as a lover of all things sports related, football, track, bowling, softball, baseball, golf and pool. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Christopher Auten, Casey Auten, Kevin Williams, DeWayne Parker, Stephen Lewis, Joel Day and Shayden Day.
